Drone Video of Dolphins and Swimmers

This Friday dolphins were at Little Manly Bay on the south side of Whangaparaoa peninsula for quite some time. I was lucky enough to get some aerial drone footage of the dolphins and swimmers in the bay. Check it out below or on YouTube. Two clips to watch depending on your attention span, a longer clip and a shorter clip which however is still more detailed than that which will be posted on Facebook.

It was quite a windy day, but otherwise stunning with clear blue skies and little puffy white clouds. The light/colour change was dramatic as the clouds pass between my drone view and the sun.

On the drone camera I had a circular polariser (twisted the right way) which is crucially important for coastal views and when you want to see down into the water to avoid reflection/glare on top of the water. On some shots it was still quite reflective depending on my camera angle and the angle of the sun, but the circular polariser absolutely helps.

Shorter version (highlights) below.

Watch the longer version on YouTube below.

Last time I filmed dolphins it sparked outrage because a speed boat charged through the school. See that video here.
