Samoa Virtual Tour

The Samoa Tourism Authority (STA) engaged us to create an immersive virtual tour of Samoa to showcase Samoa to the world. The idea was to encompass the best tourist attractions in a single experience. In total we captured 50 different locations across five islands including Upolo, Savai’i, Namu’a, Apolima & Manono.

The project ending up being a multi-trip, multi-day endeavour where we used aerial and ground based cameras to capture photos, video and 360° content across over 50 of the best Samoan tourist attractions. These included beautiful beaches, breathtaking waterfalls, cultural and historic sites as well as incredible volcanic features. In addition, as part of the attractions we visited and captured twelve different hotels & resorts.

As part of the project we delivered a single experience with aerial and ground 360° views, a multi-layered navigation menu, interactive hotspots and information boxes to inform & engage and various calls to action linking back to the STA’s main website. The virtual tour allows potential tourists to virtually explore the captured attractions and resorts. We also provided STA with individual virtual tour links for each attraction. This allows the STA to both have the complete virtual tour on a single page on their website as well as have individual unique virtual tours on each of the attraction pages.

The overall virtual tour consists of:

– 50 different attractions & accommodations

– 1300+ different 360° view points

– 50 different hotspot information boxes

– Aerial 360° views for 49 different locations

– Drop down navigation menu for quick viewing of different attractions

– Custom mobile ‘Next’ and ‘Back’ buttons for quickly moving forward and back through the attractions

– Publishing of 360° content to Google Maps for even more exposure for the Samoan businesses

In addition to the virtual tour 360° content, we also captured aerial video.
